Pachelbel Rant

I found this linked from Christy's blog.

If you're not a musician...this is REALLY funny.

If you are a musician...especially one who plays for weddings...and who has played Canon in D at JUST ABOUT every wedding you've been a part of...well, this is just off the scale hilarious.

Comedian/musician Rob Paravonian's 5 minute rant on Pachelbel...sit back, enjoy, and don't drink anything while you're watching, lest said drink ends up spit all over your computer.

(and yes, it's true...the verses to Green Day's "Basketcase" DO have the EXACT SAME chord progession as "Canon in D"...I just tested it out myself. But if anyone asks, I was just practicing "Canon in D." Very fast. And loud. Our little secret.)

As does "Hook" by Blues Traveler, if I'm not mistaken. Which is funny in oh so many ways...

You are correct, sir...and "Hook" is one of the songs he mentions in the rant!!! Funny stuff...

I would so listen to this, but the sound on my computer is kaput at the moment. Maybe this weekend?

Yes, definitely this weekend. But ONLY if you also watch the musical episode of "Scrubs" with me too. After all, as we get older, everything DOES indeed come down to poo...

on a day when i needed a laugh this came to the rescue. Also, I've played my share of weddings, and I too have a vendetta to be acted upon in the next life against Pachelbel.

If memory serves me correct, we forced you to play this at our wedding. My apologies. This was great - thanks!

finally listened to this at Mom & Dad's - AWESOME! But I'm also totally down for some musical Scrubs if we've got the time...to listen to me whine...about nothing and everything, all I want...

This was GREAT! We just spent the last half hour trying to see if we knew all of the songs he did...13 identified...3(?) to go!
