The last few weeks, Kiddo and I have been working on learning the Apostles Creed--it's become part of his bedtime routine. Last night, he asked if I could record him saying it.
Of course, proud dad that I am, I was more than willing to oblige. =)
I realize he doesn't understand more than a few words of what he's saying--but just like when he was learning the Lord's Prayer, the comprehension can come later. For now, I'm happy to take advantage of the fact that his brain is a big ol' memorizing sponge. Funny thing--near the end of the creed, instead of proclaiming his belief in the communion of saints, he professes belief in the community of saints.
I'm not gonna correct him. True community is what that line of the creed is referring to anyway.

Beautiful!! When I taught 2nd grade I was amazed at how many students could not recite this...course it would help if all Chrisitans recited it the same way! However if anyone asks what one believes, the Apostles Creed sums it up so nicely. The understanding will come soon enough and I imagine Tyler will ask those questions, and then instruct others, along the way! Wow..a minister in the making!

I taught my girls Psalm 51:10-12. They may not understand another word but they get the part about joy and they always perk up to say "restore to me the JOY of your salvation."

Great story - and so cute. The world would be a better place if we all thought more about community and loving our neighbors. Especially if that stirred us to action and participation in our churches and neighborhoods!
